Brendan Reeves

I’m a highly experienced international ski instructor with around 40 winter seasons of teaching experience, gained through back-to-back winters in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres across New Zealand, Japan, Canada, and China.

I’m an NZSIA Trainer and Examiner and spent many years with Rookie Academy in New Zealand, where I trained and mentored skiers progressing toward professional instructor qualifications. I’ve worked in Niseko for over 10 years and have deep local knowledge of the terrain, snowpack, and day-to-day conditions.

My focus is on high-level, personalised instruction, with an emphasis on technical clarity, strong fundamentals, and appropriate terrain choice to support progression. I take a calm, structured approach to teaching and adapt sessions carefully to each skier’s goals and ability.

I’ve completed professional avalanche training and bring a considered approach to safety and risk management in alpine environments. Outside of instruction, I’m also an experienced professional photographer, with extensive time working in mountain and winter environments.
